Baby's First Concert... Jason Mraz!

Baby's first Concert: September 19, 2009, Jason Mraz.

So, I know the baby probably couldn't fully enjoy the concert like Will and I did, but I realized that this was baby's first concert! At this point the baby's ears are formed, so he or she can hear sounds and vibrations, so lucky for baby their first concert was Jason Mraz!

We went to a concert in June, Keith Urban and Sugarland, but at that point baby was not able to hear anything, so we can't consider that its first concert! Okay, I know that this is probably a really stupid post, but I thought it as cute and wanted to make sure that we remember this moment for our child's sake! We have to start exposing him or her to good music from an early age. :)

Here is a look at the amazing venue we saw Jason Mraz at, Red Rocks Amphitheatre. It was amazing. Definitely the best concert venue I have ever been too.

16 Week Report

Baby is the size of an Avacado this week!

How far along? 16 weeks

Total weight gain: 4 lbs.

How big is baby? The size of an avacado

Maternity clothes? Still wearing my regular clothes, but finally started shopping for maternity clothes. My guess is in the next week or so I will start wearing them. I have found some great deals online and in stores, so I am taking advantage of the sales and clearance racks and stocking up!

Sleep? I have been on a wierd sleep schedule. It takes me awhile to get to sleep, but I generally sleep pretty good. I have started to use a body pillow for support, so sleeping on my side isn't so painful.

Best moment this week? Hearing the baby's heartbeat this past week at the doctors. It was such a great little sound. Every time I hear that little heartbeat I tear up. I cannot believe there is a little person growing inside of my. It is so crazy to think. Baby's heartbeat was 160 beats per minute, which many people are saying that means it is a girl. The doctor told me to not believe any old wives tales as that one is not true. We'll see!

Movement? I think I feel things, but then again it may just be gas! Not really sure. Everything I read says around 17 weeks is when you can start feeling the baby and around 20-22 weeks is when you can feel the baby from the outside. This is one thing that I am very excited about!

Food cravings? Still chicken nuggets!

Labor signs? Nope.

Belly button in or out? In.

How are you feeling? Pretty good. I have had few days where I felt really sick after I ate. Other than that though I am feeling really good.

What I miss: My family. It is so hard to be far away from my parents and sister. It times like this that I really wished I lived closer to them, so they could experience the pregnancy with me in person. Although I chat with pretty frequently via the phone and emails.

What I'm looking forward to: The Jason Mraz concert tomorrow night!

Milestone: Hearing a healthy baby's heartbeat!

* And mark your calendars, on October 15 we will find out if we are having a boy or a girl. We are so excited. A lot of our family and friends are saying it is a girl, but we will see. :)

15 Weeks and First Belly Pictures

Pictures are finally here! Baby is 15 weeks along! Still along ways to go, but crazy to think in 5 weeks I will be half way though the pregnancy! I finally starting to get a little baby bump, although right now to most people, it probably looks like I've just put on a few extra pounds! Oh well, we know what is really going on! I am feeling pretty good, although morning sickness hit me hard early in my second trimester. We have our next doctor's appointment next week. Will is not able to make it since his job is down in Boulder, so my good friend Whitney will be coming with me.
15 Week Report! :)
  • How far along? 15 weeks
  • Total weight gain: 2 lbs. I think the morning sickness has kept this number remaining low.
  • How big is baby? The size of an orange.
  • Maternity clothes? Nope, still wearing my normal clothes. I have had to retire a few pairs of pants, but still wearing all of my normal clothes.
  • Sleep? I am getting sleep, but it is not great sleep.
  • Best moment this week? We think Harley can sense that there is a baby! I know it sounds crazy but she will lay her head on my belly, lick my belly and just stare at it. It is really funny and really cute!
  • Movement? I know that baby is moving a ton based on what I am reading about the baby and the pregnancy, but no felt movements yet.
  • Food cravings? Chicken Nuggets and Mac n' Cheese
  • Labor signs? Nope. Thank goodness!
  • Belly button in or out? In.
  • How are you feeling? Pretty good. I am really starting to feel pregnant, so that is exciting! When you don't feel anything or see any changes it is sometimes to hard to make reality of this new adventure that we have embarked on. But more and more Will and I have these realizations that our family is growing and we couldn't be more exciting.
  • What I miss: Sleeping on my stomach!
  • What I'm looking forward to: Doctor's appointment next week. I can't wait to hear the baby's heartbeat.
  • Milestone: Not vomiting today! :)

And baby is the size of an orange this week!

Will's New Job!

After spending most of the summer job hunting, Will was offered and accepted a position at the University of Colorado at Boulder (known more commonly as CU). Will was hired as the new Assistant Director for Judicial Affairs and is really enjoying his new job. His new job is keeping him busy, but he is excited to be back at work. With his new job, he meets with students who violated university policies and/or federal and state laws, hangs out with parents & lawyers, and lots of other fun things which I am sure he will tell you more about next time he sees you! The one downside of the job is that has to commute now. No more walking to work! The drive is about an hour both ways, so we are getting used to the idea of not seeing as much of each other during the week. Overall this is a great opportunity for Will, so we are very excited for this new adventure for him and our family.
